COVID-19 Updates

Dear Fellow Adventurers and Boating Guests,
Update: June 23, 2020

As the Coronavirus has become an evolving and uncertain public health issue affecting people globally and close to home, we want to ask you for more strict considerations and restraints. Our main base here in Chaffee County the (Arkansas River Valley), is experiencing our share of hardships from COVID-19. All of us at Dvorak Expeditions want to reassure everyone that nothing is more important than the health, safety, and well-being of you our families, friends, river guests, and our staff.

We know spring fever is happening for all of us and you want to prepare for the upcoming rafting season, not quite underway on all our rivers, we appreciate those early bookings that have always been an advantage to outfitters. We are closely monitoring the situation for all our activities and are in contact with state and local government and health officials to continue to assess the situation. Dvorak Expeditions is also monitoring the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the World Health Organization’s (WHO) guidance for responding to Coronavirus.

The evolving nature of this COVID-19 event requires us to be flexible in how we, as outfitters, respond and provide services to our guests. At this time, the outfitting industry is in lockdown in general until those restrictions are lifted on June 1, 2020. We will discuss the best options and take initial deposits for trips as usual and be more flexible for the final payments 30 days prior to a trip.

Rest assured that our standard procedures have always been best practices for sanitation and at this time we will be following more strict guidelines of sanitation, cleaning of all facilities, equipment, vehicles and adhere to strict guidelines regarding food prep and kitchen sanitation.

All this and we will require all employees and we ask you as our guests to be honest about anyone in your parties who appear symptomatic up to 14 days prior to your trip to stay home. We will have a new protocol with enhanced screening questionnaires for all guests to complete and follow our prevention procedures for everyone; including masks, social distancing and maximum group sizes up to 10, (family units or small parties who have shared travel and time together.

We strongly advise our guests to purchase a travel protection plan (insurance) in case anyone in your party becomes ill or cannot travel.

All things considered, as a long-standing outfitter, we also understand the difficulty around making advance trip decisions during these uncertain times and want you to feel confident in doing so. So please inquire with us, Dvorak Expeditions, about our specific cancellation and more flexible booking policies during this time. We are all wanting to find that getaway once again this summer and are here to support what is the best for all concerned. Stay tuned with us on our website ‘Resource Page’ for more updates and when the rivers will be open to us all.

Sincerely & Stay Safe and Well,
Dvorak Staff, Guides and Team
