Impress that outdoorsy soul with one of these Outdoor Adventure Date Ideas.Winter can be every bit as fun as the summer.  You don’t have settle for just dinner and a movie.  Outdoor dates are a great way to bond and explore similar interests.  Keep each other warm in the mountains and share a hot drink to commemorate the day.  Take a look at some of these unique date ideas for winter.

Enjoy an outdoor date at Monarch Mountain! Whether you and your date are a never-ever or an advanced skier/snowboarder, you will love a day at the resort. The mountain has groomers for everyone, along with some rad hike-to terrain. At the end of the day, enjoy a beer or a hot toddy at the bar.

‘Tis the season to take advantage of the awesome hut systems available in Colorado. Hut trips are a great adventure date and an awesome way to unplug for a night or a few days. Some huts can be accessed through ski touring or snowmobiles, and other have car access. These huts have limited to no electricity, but they come equipped with stoves, fireplaces, beds, and kitchen supplies. Definitely a must-do on our date night list!

Wait until there’s a full moon or just bring your headlamps! Either way, moonlight cross-country skiing is a ton of fun! And bonus, XC ski gear is less expensive compared to downhill skiing and especially affordable to rent!

Do you love fishing in the summertime? Why not try it in the winter! There are lots of places in Colorado open to ice fishing, such as Blue Mesa, near Gunnison, CO. Explore this sport while snuggling up to stay warm and don’t forget the hot chocolate!

You and your partner are avid SUPers and miss those summer days on the water. Don’t let the season get you down! Grab your SUP and head to one of the many lakes that don’t freeze over. There are plenty of lakes and ponds in Colorado that are SUP-able all year long. Grab your dry suit and warm clothes and go explore!

Soaking in nature’s hot tub is the ultimate way to relax in the outdoors. Soak up the natural minerals and rejuvenate your body. Colorado has many options, including Mount Princeton Hot Springs and Cottonwood Hot Springs just a few minutes away from Salida.

Not familiar with the Salida area? Take a tour via a snowmobile! It’s a fun way of exploring the mountains for the day. Tour the historic town of Saint Elmo or explore Monarch Pass. Either way, you’re in for an amazing day.

If you and your date are avid backcountry skiers, you should definitely check out the amazing backcountry skiing Monarch Pass has to offer. Be aware, this is not for novice skiers.  You should have advanced skiing abilities, knowledge of avalanche safety, and avalanche safety equipment. If that describes you and your partner, then head out! You will love a day skiing on Monarch Pass.
