GUNNISON RIVER FISHING TRIPS

THE GOLD MEDAL WATERS OF THE FAMOUS “GUNNY GORGE” below the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
2020 Stonefly Hatch Dates are Booking NOW!

The Gunnison River’s malachite green waters have been awarded “Gold Medal” status for rainbow, brown, cutthroat and cuttbow trout fishing. The river’s narrow corridor creates intermediate whitewater rapids, class II-III rapids, through the 2800 foot high walls of Gorge and continue for 14 miles of the Gunnison River Gorge. Trust our experienced custom fly fishing guides to provide a memorable and professional fishing & rafting experience.

The FAMOUS Gunnison Gorge’s giant ‘Stonefly Hatch’ fishing trip begins at the Tail Race Fishery below the Blue Mesa Project and works it’s way downstream into the ‘Gorge’ in June each season.  Accessible only by foot for guests and horsepacking all boating gear the day before your trip, the Gunnison fly fishing trips are a wilderness experience of the finest caliber for those who are willing to go the extra mile. This wilderness trail is a one-mile hike down to the riverbank with wildlife, peregrine falcons soaring above.  You won’t want to miss the solitude and unspoiled beauty of the ‘Gunny Gorge’, as this trip is truly a gorgeous, unique river experience.

A little rusty? Check out our Fly Fishing Clinics on the Arkansas River in Colorado, another EXCELLENT Gold Medal fishery.
