This newly developed River Rescue Pro certification course is 3 days of intensive and comprehensive training that takes professional certification for the professional boater to a whole new level. All days are taught in the river environment. Short lectures will be followed with immediate application in the water. The class is held over a minimum of 3 days with case study homework in the evenings.

This course integrates the most current technology and research on rope rescue from throughout the world, and utilizes “discovery learning” to teach skills necessary to safely effect technical rope rescues in environments ranging from simple over-the-bank situations to vertical cliff and structure rescues.
The course covers basic and specialized equipment, ropes and rigging, safety considerations, scene management and organizations, helicopter applications, special problems, ascending and descending systems, rappelling, belaying lowering and raising systems, Telphers, highlines, and litter management.
The National Certification and the standard for river and flood rescue – These are the most widely taught courses of its kind. Originally certified by the United States Lifesaving Association, the SRT-1 course meets the requirements of the NFPA 1670 Standard and is recognized by many other groups.
SRT-1 and RRP is not a clinic or a workshop. It is a comprehensive course of specific behavioral objectives, with practical and written tests prior to certification. The class is mostly field skills with minimum classroom time. The prerequisites are that the students be in reasonable physical condition and have basic strong swimming abilities and have current medical coverage.
