Stay Summer Fit All Winter – With these winter time activities

Summer is in Colorado is not only fun, but it also keeps you fit and healthy. Between rafting, Suping, Kayaking, biking, and hiking it’s easy to stay on your game all summer long. But what happens when the sun sets early and blankets of snow covers the valley?

Don’t let winter blues get you down, we have some of our favorite winter activities for you to check out.

1. Yoga 

Not only does yoga keep you fit, but it also increases concentration and reduces stress. Winter yoga will help builds strength, improves balance, and reduce injuries. The best part is you can easily take your new yoga routine to your SUP board come summer.

2. Nordic Skiing

Like alpine skiing but lower risk of injury and less expensive equipment. Choose from either classic or skate skiing and you will be surprised how much of a workout you get in. Nordic skiing works out your legs, arms, and endurance while being friendly to any age or experience level.

3. Plyometrics

Also known as jump training or plyos, are exercises in which muscles exert maximum force in short intervals of time. These exercises increase coordination, build strength, and boost athletic performance. The best part is that only a few minutes of plyometric exercise will have significant results, perfect for the busy holiday season.

4. Spin Class

Don’t let winter get you off your bike. You can find spin classes in almost any town. These classes get you spinning long miles and high cadences keeping those legs feeling fresh and ready to go come spring.

5. Rowing Machine

Miss boating already? Grab yourself a gym membership and hit the rowing machine. This machines give you as much resistance as you please and will make sure you keep your boating arms year round!
