Floating Through Life on the Rio Grande – National Parks Traveler

Floating Through Life on the Rio Grande – Published by: NationalParksTraveler.com –

Whats in the news!  Interesting article!  We do this!

We don’t expect adventure on a flatwater river, but sometimes it just happens.

An easy commercial trip on a hot morning last October started out innocently but crescendoed during a raging storm that night. Our three-raft flotilla put onto the Rio Grande at Lajitas just upstream of the Big Bend National Park boundary. The current and casual rowing carried us between low river banks thick with reeds and brush. Over river sounds, we heard the calls, twitters and trills of unseen birds.

Hi Jaci & Bill, DVK Staff!

Alexia and I want to thank your staff and you and Bill for the incredible fun and warm hospitality we enjoyed while visiting you in Salida!  We’re sadly now settling back into the routine of life in the beltway but want to put all of our pictures and reviews up on Facebook to share our experience and hopefully inspire others to come out to the Arkansas Valley too.  I have some good fishing photos, a lot of good horseback riding pics , some from the rafting!  we’ll add them to the posting .
