22 Day - Teenage Whitewater Camp Beginning
June 8th!!!
Just a few months from now...we'll once again
begin the “Teenager Whitewater Camp.” Dvorak’s guides will
be touching on as many river skills, crafts and adventures possible
in this instructional camp. Paddle the world famous Arkansas River
beneath the impressive 14,000 ft peaks of the Collegiate Mountains.
Try kayaking the mighty Green River as it blasts through canyons en
route to the mighty Colorado. Hike in wilderness terrain that makes
your senses explode. Mountain bike on undulating single track that
winds through the Rocky Mountains and National Forests or take a
break to regroup in a hot springs as we soak up experiences and
skills learned from the rivers you have been running. Soak in
natural wonders, fly fish for record trout on fisheries accessible
by the experts or build your skills and share your goals with others
who also share your passion for whitewater and more. Our
alumni-guides claim the best part of these teen multi-sport dream
camps is coming home, at the end of 22-days, knowing their

Black Canyon National Park’s GUNNISON
GORGE
"THE BABY GRAND" 14 miles

The
Gunnison Gorge is known worldwide for the June Giant Stonefly
Hatch!
It is a hidden jewel, off the beaten path, tucked deep
in steep granite walls. The Gunnison River is a sportsman's and paddler's
paradise. The clear, cold waters of the Gunnison have been
designated a Gold Medal Trout Fishery. Its narrow river
corridor creates exciting whitewater action on a river that is part
of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
Accessible only by foot or horseback, the Gunnison Gorge is
a wilderness canyon for those who are willing to literally go the
extra mile. A trip to the canyon floor requires a hike of one mile
down a steep trail. Guests are expected to carry their personal gear
in packs provided by Dvorak. With every step, the wilderness feeling
deepens. The solitude and scenery found at the canyon floor make the
hike down worth every step. Enter the wilderness world of the
Gunnison Gorge for a one – three day trip(s).

Enjoy one of our famous easy breakfast dishes adapted from our Dutch
oven Cooking!
Jaci’s Baked Apple Pancake
Serves 6-8
Ingredients:
4 Tart green apples
1
cube butter or margarine
¾ cup of sliced almonds or chopped
walnuts
¾ cup of brown sugar
2 TBS cinnamon
3 cups of
bisquick (baking mix)
2 cups Water (approximate)
Vanilla
yogurt 16 oz
‘Heavy’ cast frying pan or skillet oven
safe.
Slice the apples, dice the nuts and sauté apples in ½
cube of butter until golden brown, and add ½ cup brown sugar and 1
TBS cinnamon. Spread apples evenly over bottom of fry pan and add a
little more butter if it’s to dry. Set this aside while you mix up,
in a bowl, the water- bisquick to make a batter “Pancake” thickness.
Add ¼ cup brown sugar to batter with some cinnamon as well. Pour the
batter directly over the apples and, nuts, in the fry pan, and
sprinkle some cinnamon on the top before you place in the oven to
bake at 425 degrees for about 20-30 minutes until fluffy and golden
brown on top. Serve in pie shape cuts with yogurt on top for a hardy
breakfast pancake!
Watching your diet you
can substitute any items with alternatives. The trick is to be able
to pour the batter over the apples for final baking. Enjoy and watch
