HALLELUJAH! WE HAVE SNOW!! |
|
|
|
The
snow-capped peaks around Colorado and our neighboring states are
bringing a smile to every boater’s face! We are all eagerly
anticipating a great water year and the chance to get on some
rivers that haven’t been running much in the last few years as
well as enjoying the run-off on our favorite river sections.
Statewide we are currently at 114% of average snow pack! The San
Miguel & Dolores Basin is at 163%, the Gunnison at 152%, the
Arkansas is at 128%, and the Colorado is at 102% as of February
24, 2005.
So get your
sandals and splash jackets out of storage, it’s nearly time to
go boating!

The Rio Grande winds through the solitude and silence of
deep chasms, rocky flats and desert mountains that
characterize the Texas/Mexico border. This southern
wilderness provides enjoyable water temperatures in the
60’s and 70’s with daytime highs of 70 to 90 degrees.
The desert erupts into a sea of colorful desert
wildflowers during March and April and is not to be
missed! The pace offers both time to perfect boating
skills with instruction or relax on the rafts. Enjoy the
“Hot Springs” along the way; it’s a truly relaxing
Mexican getaway for river rafting enthusiasts.
