Colorado River Whitewater Rafting

90 miles – Class II-V+

The Colorado River, sixth largest of all 135 U.S. rivers, travels through 7 states for over 1400 miles with Colorado snowfalls feeding over 75% of this river’s flows. The headwaters of the Colorado River lie deep within the heart of Rocky Mountain National Park near Longs Peak and Estes Park, Colorado and get off to a rollicking start in Gore Canyon, one of the last sections to be run with Rob Wise’s first raft descent in 1977.  Choose from many locations that offer excellent Colorado River white water rafting!

Rafting the Upper Colorado River:

Gore Canyon

This is the cutting edge of “big water” which is still runnable (Class V+). Some portages are necessary and there is frequent scouting of these high adrenaline rapids. This trip is available by special arrangement only. Paddle crews must be advanced/experts; minimum age of 18 years.

Little Gore Canyon
23-65 miles | Class II/ III | 1-4 days

One of the first boatable sections of the river, Little Gore Canyon is filled with beautiful alpine scenery, history and natural hot springs. This milder stretch of white water rafting make a great family rafting trip and is reachable within an easy drive from Denver.

Glenwood Canyon
18 miles | Class II-III | 1 day
