The Green River was fist discovered by John Wesley Powell in the late 1800′s. Powell was intrigued by the surrounding area and especially, the sheer valley walls, some raising over 1000 feet.

Dvorak Expeditions offers great Colorado rafting trips on one of American’s favorite rivers, the Dolores. The river flows 230 miles north of the Bear Mountains in Colorado and is ranked as one of the best runs in the United States. The Dolores River runs deep through the San Juan National Forest, displaying natural petroglyphs along the way. You’ll love Dvorak’s small guided tours, professionally trained guides and beautiful back country views. You won t be disappointed as the Dolores is known for having “the most unbroken miles of wilderness river scenery and white water rafting thrills than any other river in the lower 48 states.” The best time to run this river is early spring (mid-April through mid June). The Dolores is normally around a 32 mile rafting trip and on average takes three days to complete. It is an adventure for people who want some good action. Depending on the season, most rapids are raked between a class two and four. The Dolores area also offers great white water kayaking, awesome hiking, and views that will knock you off your feet.
